Roots to Resilience is a grassroots organization founded and led by community members from Pueblo, Colorado, who are deeply committed to advancing environmental justice. Our leadership and work are rooted in lived experience, local knowledge, and a shared vision for a healthier, more equitable future.

We work from the grassroots to the national stage — building power locally, influencing policy statewide, and advocating nationally — to improve the quality of life for ALL Southern Coloradans and protect the health of future generations.

Our Work & What We’ve Achieved
Commitment from Xcel Energy to retire the Comanche coal plant in Pueblo a full 40-years earlier than planned.
Founding partner of the Nuclear-Free Colorado Coalition.
Co-founded the Clean Air Pueblo project.
Instrumental in the passage of 2021 and 2022 air toxics legislation, leading to the founding of Clean Air Pueblo.
Worked with Pueblo City Council to pass the 2017 Ready For 100% Renewable Energy by 2035 Resolution.
Worked with Pueblo Board of County Commissioners to pass the 2018 Ready For 100% Renewable Energy by 2035 Resolution.
Proven record of protecting Pueblo’s air, water, land, and the environment on which we all depend, for nearly a decade.
